Welcome To NeuroTides Counseling

An inclusive practice rooted in honoring the unique ways each person experiences and moves through the world. We provide neuroaffirming, lgbtqia2s+, trauma-informed approaches where clients can feel seen, supported, and empowered to navigate challenges, build upon individual and collective strengths, and work towards goals in their daily lives.

NeuroTides Counseling recognizes that we all reside and work on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples. I recognize the Sovereign Nations are the traditional stewards of the Earth and continue to protect our land and watersheds.

NeuroTides Counseling is rooted in acknowledging previous and ongoing systems of harm and is invested in listening, learning, and strengthening my responsibility—especially to those who bear the greatest burden of systemic injustice. I recognize that most therapeutic practices have delved from Native traditions including mindfulness interventions, bilateral stimulation, parts work, storytelling, spirituality practices, and creating cultural/community structures of support.

I am committed to working to un-colonize my therapeutic practices, understanding that it is not possible for me to decolonize as I am a white, cis-presenting person living on stolen land, and I continue to benefit from systems of oppression within this. (If you would like to learn more on decolonizing vs. uncolonizing- visit this link).

I am committed to humility, taking accountability when I cause harm, and continuing to work towards reducing systemic barriers to historically marginalized communities. This specifically includes paying reparations, fighting for landback policies, uplifting underrepresented voices, and offering reduced rates and sliding scales within my counseling practice.
