A Bit About Me And My Practice
“Life is alchemy, and emotions are the fire that turns me to gold. I will continue to become only if I resist extinguishing myself a million times a day. If I can sit in the fire of my own feelings, I will keep becoming.” -Glennon Doyle, ‘Untamed’.
Welcome! My name is Hannah, and I believe that every individual deserves to be heard, affirmed, and supported as they work to build up skills to address the issues they are facing daily in their lives. Thank you for taking a minute to read my bio to see if I might be a good fit to come alongside you on your journey.
After teaching in the public school system as a high school special education teacher for six years, I transitioned to counseling and now specialize in working with adolescents (13+) and young adults. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also strive to provide a safe and welcoming space to those within this community and those exploring their sexual or gender identities.
I use a person-centered, trauma informed, multimodal approach to ensure each client is supported while identifying and working towards their goals. Along with this, I also believe it is important to identify and understand the interconnectivity of cultural, historical, and social impacts and experiences within one’s life.
Outside of work, you’ll find me on my paddle board with my dog, watching women's sports with my girlfriend, finding new hikes in the area, reading, and listening to podcasts.
